GET TO KNOW WHITNEY, MISS KENTUCKIANA 2006

We Asked Whitney:

What motivates you and what are you passionate about?  Goals that I set for myself and staying active physically and mentally and trying to be a good role model for my sister and cousins.

What energizes you?  Waking up every morning and knowing that today leads to new steps in my life and seeing hard work pay off.

Fill us in on your future:  I plan to obtain a bachelor's degree in Business Management or Biology and go to dental school to hopefully become a DDS and eventually open my own dental practice.

Whitney is a graduate of Western High School and a freshman at Indiana University.  She was born in Kokomo, Indiana, and has one younger sister.  She volunteers as a book buddy for Sycamore School's Head Start Program.  In school she was involved with the National honor Society, Student Council, French Club, W-Club and played on the Varsity Tennis and Cross Country teams.

Others describe Whitney as confident, friendly, focused.  Whitney is a three time recipient of the Academic Honors Award, and a two time recipient of the Sycamore School's Outstanding Volunteer Award and was named to the Mid-Indiana All Conference Tennis Award.

Whitney won the Contestant's Choice Award at the 2006 MISS KENTUCKIANA Pageant.  At the 2006 AMERICA'S NATIONAL MISS Pageant she placed 6th overall and was voted Miss Photogenic 2006.

The contestants in the MISS KENTUCKIANA Pageant, compete in three phases of competition that include:  Personal Expression in Runway, Physical Fitness in Swimsuit, and Elegance in Evening Gown. (Please note, there is no personal interview and no performing talent competitions.)
